Nobo School is the core business of the NOBO Educational institution, the “NOBO Educational Approach”. The NOBO Educational Approach is a set of complete solutions for helping Chinese kindergartens use internationally advanced education ideas to promote the scientific development of young children, to encourage children’s spirit of exploration, to inculcate good learning habits and character, and to implement efficient kindergarten management.

In terms of education level, the NOBO system can be summarized in a “NOBO Educational Approach Diagram” (see Figure 1): from the inside to the outside, in turn, there are core targets, habit targets, field targets, teaching methods, and education influence factors. The basic goal of NOBO Education is to cultivate lifelong learners who are civically minded on a global scale. To achieve this, NOBO is dedicated to cultivating children’s behavior from ten perspectives (see Figure 2); these are the ten key habits that inherently embrace the five specific objectives of the development of young children as defined in the Ministry of Education’s The 3- to 6-year-old Child’s Learning and Development Guide and the Core Knowledge Foundation’s related standards. In the specific teaching implementation, three characteristic courses (theme exploration course, habit-forming course, and subject exploration course) and scientific assessment tools and methods are employed to realize NOBO education goals. The outer ring of the pentagon further indicates all the characters and the environment involved in realizing the educational goals.

From the perspective of management, the NOBO Educational Approach, guided by the NOBO concept, integrates the rich practical experience of NOBO operations management and the R&D experience of years of operating kindergartens, and this results in a complete set of systematic and practical kindergarten management guidance system elements including: administrative management, special education teaching management, performance management, financial management, brand management, training management, material management, healthcare management, security management, and management evaluation systems. The system covers basically the preparation for the early development of kindergarten management, administration in management operations, teaching management, and general affairs management. It is a set of standardized management tools for the full application of NOBO’s concepts, from running schools to the kindergarten environment.

Also at the management level, through direct operation, cooperation in operating kindergartens, and entrusted management, NOBO cooperates with educational and other institutions, government departments, businesses, and real estate developers to promote its educational approach. At the same time, NOBO provides professional, customized service plans to ensure the suitability of its educational approach and that matching is taking place according to the specific conditions in different kindergartens and schools. The system has been accessible to more than ten kindergartens in the Xicheng District of Beijing, the Changping District of Beijing, the Daxing District of Beijing, Anhui Wuhu, and Guangxi Beihai, among others. Among these, the branch kindergarten, BNUK Zhanlanlu Campus, co-established by Beijing Normal University and NOBO, has been in operation for over three years and has become a kindergarten that operates directly in line with NOBO’s educational approach.

    Haima Assessment

Haima Assessment is a set of scientific assessment and personalized education solutions that analyzes the development characteristics and ability levels of children 2 to 6 years of age and matches two main learning and life scenarios – the kindergarten education and family education – through the online assessment of children’s actual performance.

With a solid foundation of theory and practice, Haima Assessment not only integrates the input of experts and research scholars in the field of children’s cognitive development from the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, BNU, and Columbia University, it also calls on NOBO’s education concept and a large amount of practical experience. During five years of follow-up study, Haima Assessment expert teams collected data on more than fifty thousand young children in more than two hundred kindergartens, and more than eight thousand kindergarten teachers, and consolidated the findings using Haima Assessment data analysis. At the same time, with the NOBO Educational Approach as the backdrop, Haima Assessment has designed for children a rich variety of online educational activities based on scientific evaluation and individual appropriateness assessment. Parents can choose among these. The program aims to use technology to enable more children to enjoy effective, appropriate and high-quality, education.

In accordance with the different application scenarios, Haima Assessment offers two solutions: “Edu Up” and “Smart Up.”

“Edu Up” is used mainly in collective teaching situations, like kindergarten. According to the children’s assessment results, transverse analysis and comparison of characteristics and the development of ability levels of children in different areas should be done followed by the automatic matching of intelligent solutions to kindergartens.

“Smart Up” is used mainly in family life, entertainment and learning. By offering learning content geared to individual cognition and assessment results in five areas, and optimizing the parent-child education link, we can achieve the goals for learning while working to improve the quality of parent participation and family education.
